What is RRB Group-D Exam?

RRB Group D Exam is conducted by Railway Recruitment Board. Railway Group D Recruitment 2018 will be conducted to select candidates to the post of Level 1 of 7 CPC Pay Matrix. All those who want to appear for the exam, must submit online application for the same, as mentioned in the Railway Recruitment Group D Notification. Why RRB Group-D?

    Eligibility Criteria

    Age Limit for RRB Group-D 2018 (as on 01.07.2018)
    Minimum Age – 18 years
    Maximum Age – 31 years

    Age Relaxation (Revised)
    Indian Railway has extended the age relaxation in Upper Age Limit for all categories. For general category, the upper age limit has been fixed at 30 years from 28 years. For OBC category it has been revised to 33 years from 31 years. For the SC & ST category, the age relaxation has been fixed at 35 years from 33.

    Educational Qualification
    1. 10th Pass from Institution recognised by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT (As per the latest IR notification, ITI has become non-mandatory for Group D recruitment).
    2. 10th Pass plus National Apprenticeship (NAC) granted by NCVT or 10th Pass from Institution recognised by NCVT/SCVT.

    Examination Pattern

    Railway Group D Exam Pattern 2018 comprises of CBT or Computer Based Test followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification. Let's have a look at these stages of CBT in detail.

    First stage of CBT
    ♦ The minimum percentage of marks to qualify for second round in various categories : UR-40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-30%.

    ♦ 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
    ♦ The questions will be of objective type with multiple choices.

    Male Candidate Female Candidate
    You should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down. You should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
    You should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance. You should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
    Document Verification
    ♦ Based on the performance of the candidates in the CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, candidates will be called for document verification.
    ♦ Thereafter, the final selection will be made.
    Note: Shortlisted candidates should produce NOC from the employer on the date of his/her DV failing which their candidature will be cancelled. Signatures of the candidates on all documents should be identical, either in English or Hindi.

    Application Fee

    As per the latest announcement, the candidates who will appear in the Group D examination will get their fees refunded by the Indian Railway. The Reserved category will get 100% refund, while the General category will get Rs 400 as the refund.

    RRB Group-D Admit Card

    The Admit Cards for Railway RRB Exams are released just a couple of weeks before the Exam. You can check this space for the RRB Group D admit card. We will update the post, once the admit cards will be available for download.

    To login on the official website of Railway Recruitment Board, a candidate is required to have:
    Registration Number/Roll Number
    Date of Birth/Password
    The admit card for Railway Group-D 2018 exam will be issued to candidates in two phases:
    For CBT
    For PET
    All candidates must go through the guidelines mentioned on the official website of Railway before downloading his/her admit card.

    RRB will be declare the result for CBT after the examination for the same will be conducted. Result will be announced for CBT first. Candidates who clear CBT will be allowed to give PET of Railway Group-D 2018 Exam. Result for PET will be released post the Physical Test for Men's and Women's.

    The marks obtained by you in CBT will be counted in the preparation of the final merit list. Therefore, you should try to score maximum marks by keeping the negative marking in mind. Moreover, based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, they will be called for PET two times the community wise total vacancy of the posts notified against RRBs.
